The Home Inspection process can be very detailed. The reports are broken down into many sections. These are broken down into the most basic sections of the house. Foundations Roofing Attic Siding Windows Electrical Systems Heating and Cooling Systems Plumbing, Sewer and Water Water Heater Appliances Optional systems, such as sprinkler systems and septic sewer systems.
These are the basic sections of the house that are inspected but not limited only to these sections. Many other things are inspected, such as settling cracks in the sheetrock or how well the doors open and close or water leaks. Energy efficiency of the house is limited to the amount of insulation in the attic or if the house has single or double pane glass windows. These are the things that are visible to the inspector. Some newer air conditioning units may be determined to be a higher energy efficient units. Recommendations for repairs may be made to help take care of the condition of the house or proper drainage around the house to help protect the foundation from movement. Clients are encouraged to ask questions about any condition of the home or the inspection report.
